Help and FAQs
Answers to common questions about finding, booking and paying for private healthcare on SQEDULE.
Finding care
What is SQEDULE?
SQEDULE is a UK healthcare marketplace that makes private healthcare easier to find and book. You can search for providers and services by what you need, where you are, when you are free and other preferences.
Do I need to know which treatment I need?
No. Search for a service, or describe what you're looking for in your own words. SQEDULE shows healthcare options that may be relevant, but search results are not a diagnosis or clinical recommendation.
Are providers on SQEDULE checked?
Yes. Providers must complete SQEDULE's verification process before they can accept bookings. The checks depend on the provider, their profession and the services they offer. Read how we verify providers.
Does SQEDULE decide which treatment I should have?
No. Your healthcare provider assesses your circumstances and decides whether a treatment or service is clinically appropriate.
Who provides my healthcare?
The healthcare professional or organisation shown on your booking. SQEDULE provides the technology that helps you find and book the service.
Can a provider decide not to provide the treatment I booked?
Yes. Booking an appointment does not guarantee that a treatment, prescription or procedure will be clinically appropriate. After a consultation or assessment, your provider may recommend something else or decide not to go ahead.
Insurance and payment
Can I use health insurance?
You can filter providers by the insurers they say they work with. This does not guarantee that your policy covers a particular appointment or treatment. Confirm eligibility, authorisation and cover with your insurer and the provider.
How do I pay for my appointment?
It depends on the provider and the appointment. Where online payment is available through SQEDULE, your payment is processed securely by Stripe. The amount to pay is shown before you confirm.
Does SQEDULE charge patients a booking fee?
No. You pay the amount shown for your appointment or service, under the provider's terms shown before you book.
What happens if I need a refund?
It depends on the provider's cancellation policy and the circumstances of the booking. Where a refund is due on an online payment, it goes back to the original payment method.
Favourites and alerts
Can I favourite a provider?
Yes. Favouriting a provider does not sign you up to marketing or availability alerts. You choose separately whether to get updates from that provider.
How do availability alerts work?
If you switch them on for a favourite provider, we email you when that provider releases new appointments, including last-minute ones. You can switch alerts off at any time, and every alert email has a link to stop them.
What does following a provider mean?
Some providers send news, last-minute appointments and offers to patients who follow them. Follow a provider from its page to get these by email. It is separate from favourites and alerts, and every email has a link to stop them.
Your appointments
How do I change or cancel an appointment?
Open the booking in My appointments to see the options for that appointment. Each provider has its own cancellation policy, shown before you confirm your booking.
What if I need urgent medical attention?
SQEDULE is not an emergency service. Read Safety and urgent care to find the right urgent or emergency care.
